The New Year is always a good time to reflect on the previous year, and our latest NHSN newsletter includes our Annual Review. Our Chair, Jonathan Hewitt, shares his thoughts:
‘I have always been struck by the commitment, knowledge, loyalty and inspiration of our members and volunteers, and this shines through in the Annual Review of 2016/17 that highlights what NHSN and its people have achieved over the last year. What all of these individuals and groups have in common is a shared delight in the wonders of nature – an essential ingredient in being able to inspire others and to nurture a desire to do something to conserve it.’
The Annual Review showcases our achievements across all the different strands of NHSN, and can be viewed here. It was a busy and exciting year and we are grateful to all our funders, partners, volunteers and staff for all their valuable contributions. We were especially grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund for their support for our three year Archive Project, which now is nearing completion.
We hope you enjoy reading the Annual Review and if you would like to know more, come along to our new format AGM on Friday 23 March. We will be celebrating all that we have achieved in 2016/17, looking at our plans for the future, and there will be the opportunity to socialise with other members and visit the archive and library. Doors open at 6.45 for a 7.00pm start. Refreshments available, everyone welcome.
