Botany at Bakethin Reservoir

Sunday 11 August, 11.30am-2.30pm

CANCELLED – unfortunately, we have had to cancel this event due to expected bad weather. Many apologies for any inconvenience or disappointment caused.

With Professor John Richards

Bakethin Reservoir is the constant-level adjunct to Kielder Water, managed as a nature reserve. Not only are there marginal plants and aquatics, but also a rich slice of Kielder flora (it is an old site for northern hawk’s-beard Crepis mollis but it has probably disappeared). Specialties include northern spike-rush Eleocharis mamillata and variegated horsetail Equisetum variegatum.

John Richards is the Botanical Co-Recorder for South Northumberland.

N.B. end time is an estimate.

Booking essential. To book, please go to Eventbrite here.
