Grazing Animals: Tools for Conservation

Friday 8 February 2019.

With Dr Richard Bevan

Grazing is essential for the management of many of England’s most important wildlife habitats. Grassland, heathland, wood pasture, floodplain and coastal marshes all require some grazing to maintain the structure and composition upon which a variety of plants and animals depend for their survival.

Dr Richard Bevan discusses the role of grazing animals in conservation and how browsing by herbivores, when managed correctly, can be used to great effect to maintain vulnerable habitats.
