Course tutor: Alison Cutts
Course length: 5 weekly sessions, 1.15 – 3.15pm
Course structure: Indoor
Over five afternoon sessions, this gentle introduction to botanical art will ease you into the techniques used to create accurate observational drawings from botanical specimens. Each week, you will build in confidence and skill, moving from simple specimens to more complex material, and finish by drawing a whole plant.
The course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some experience in other types of drawing, and the small group size allows Alison to work more closely with attendees. It is not intended as a masterclass for scientific artists. All materials will be provided, but if you have favourite pencils and drawing paper please do bring them along. Whilst there is no specific ‘homework’ between the sessions, we hope participants will be inspired to draw independently throughout (and beyond) the course.
Cost £65 (concessions £60)
