The Caretaker's Lodge at the Hancock Museum

The caretaker’s lodge, at the rear of the Hancock Museum on Claremont road, where Mr A E Bennett and his wife lived. It is shown here on the left of this photograph taken shortly before it was demolished in 1964.

During the war, the caretaker Bennett and the Deputy Curator Miss Gladys M Scott were among the few remaining staff left in charge at the museum.
