Chair of the Library Committee
Les is Honorary Librarian and Chairman of the Library Committee.
His interests include entomology; the history of natural history, especially in North East England; museum collections and collectors.
Now retired, Les was formerly:
“I knew the Hancock Museum in the 1970s, and when I was Keeper of Biology I came to appreciate the
importance of the society’s collections and the achievements of its members since 1929. I see my role as
protecting the historic collections, and enhancing the library with new books and journals that are useful
and relevant to people with enquiring minds”
